Spirax Sarco DP27 Pressure Reducing Valve
DP27 is a pilot-operated Spirax Sarco pressure reducing valve with ductile iron construction. Product documentation covers DP27, DP27E, DP27G, DP27GY, DP27R and DP27Y variants for model review, replacement planning and enquiry checks.
Quick facts
Where DP27 fits
Technical and installation documentation confirms a ductile iron pilot-operated valve family for steam, compressed air and selected industrial gases. The product documentation explicitly says the product is not for oxygen service.
Confirmed variant scope
The product documentation covers DP27, DP27E, DP27G, DP27GY, DP27R and DP27Y. Standard DP27 is used for steam or compressed air, DP27E adds a solenoid assembly for remote or timed on/off steam control, DP27G is for compressed air and industrial gases with nitrile soft seals, and DP27R supports remote pressure signal control.
For low-pressure spring duties, the documented DP27Y and DP27GY range is 0.2 - 3.0 bar g. DP27LC is not the low-pressure variant; it is a low-capacity ordering option, so it appears after the regular DP27 choices in the specification selector.
Selection boundaries
The documented body design condition is PN25. For saturated steam, the maximum use condition is 17 bar g for DP27, DP27R and DP27Y, and 10 bar g for DP27E. The documented maximum temperature is 232°C for DP27, DP27R and DP27Y, and 190°C for DP27E.
Before final selection, confirm upstream pressure, target downstream pressure, medium, connection standard, station drainage, upstream protection and downstream safety valve requirements. For high pressure ratios, standby service or wide load variation, the complete station layout matters as much as the valve model.

Continue your DP27 selection route
DP27 selection usually sits inside a wider station decision that includes medium, pressure ratio, sensing, drainage and downstream protection.
Compare the wider regulator family
Return to the pressure reducing and surplussing valve family when you need to compare DP27 with 25P, BRV2S and other pressure control formats.
Connect DP27 with wider control hardware
Move into the broader control systems range when the project also needs control valves, actuators or adjacent pressure-control hardware.
Support the full pressure reducing station
Review strainers, separators, gauges and safety valves when you are building a complete pressure reducing station rather than selecting the valve alone.
