Where BC3150 fits in TDS blowdown control
BC3150 is the model route for steam boiler projects that need automatic
control of boiler water TDS without adding bottom blowdown timing or Modbus
communications to the same controller. It monitors conductivity, compares the
reading with the setpoint and drives the blowdown valve to keep dissolved
solids within the target range.
The controller is typically used with CP10, CP30 or CP32 conductivity
probes and can also work in contaminated condensate monitoring arrangements
where conductivity is used to decide whether condensate should be diverted.
Typical duties and selection intent
BC3150 is a practical fit when the project needs to:
- automate continuous boiler TDS blowdown
- reduce reliance on manual blowdown routines
- use
4-20 mA output for local monitoring or wider plant visibility - add temperature compensation with a
Pt100 input where conditions vary - use pulse blowdown on smaller boilers to reduce water-level disturbance
If the immediate requirement includes bottom blowdown timing, trend display or
RS485 / Modbus RTU, compare the
BC3250 boiler blowdown controller.
Capabilities confirmed by current documentation
Current documentation confirms support for automatic TDS control, flushing,
sensor cleaning output, 4-20 mA output and infrared communication. It also
documents panel, DIN rail or backplate mounting for indoor control panels or
suitable enclosures.
Before specification, confirm the conductivity probe type, probe mounting
position, whether temperature compensation is required, the blowdown valve
package and how the output signal will be used by the site.
